Refurbished does not necessarily mean the device looks brand new. Cosmetic appearance depends on the condition grade shown on the product page.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, refurbished products should be expected to have been previously used.

What does Certified Pre-Owned mean?

A Certified Pre-Owned device is a previously owned device that has gone through an inspection and testing process before being offered for sale.

At Formidable Wireless, certified pre-owned devices are checked to help ensure that their essential features and functions operate properly.

Because these devices have been previously owned, they may show cosmetic signs of use depending on their assigned condition grade.

Certified Pre-Owned gives customers an opportunity to purchase a dependable device at a lower cost than buying brand new.

What is the difference between Refurbished and Certified Pre-Owned?

The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but there can be a slight difference.

A Certified Pre-Owned device has been inspected and tested to confirm that it meets our resale standards.

A Refurbished device may also have undergone additional servicing, repair, component replacement, cleaning, or restoration when required.

In both cases, the product page will tell you the device's condition and any important information you should know before purchasing.

What does the device condition mean?

Our devices are categorized by condition so you can choose the right balance between appearance and price.

Cosmetic grading describes how the device looks. It does not mean that a lower cosmetic grade is less functional.

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, devices are tested to confirm that their essential functions are working properly.

Like New

Our highest cosmetic grade.

A Like New device is in exceptionally clean condition with little to no visible signs of previous use.

You can expect:

• Little or no noticeable scratches

• Very clean screen and housing

• No significant dents or cosmetic damage

• Fully functional major features

This is an excellent choice for customers who want a device that looks as close to new as possible while still saving money.

Excellent

An Excellent-condition device has been lightly used and remains in very clean cosmetic condition.

You may notice:

• Very light surface marks

• Minor signs of handling

• Small imperfections that are difficult to notice during normal use

The device remains fully functional and offers an excellent balance between appearance and value.

Very Good

A Very Good-condition device shows normal signs of previous use.

You may notice:

• Light scratches on the screen or body

• Small scuffs around the frame

• Minor cosmetic wear

These cosmetic imperfections do not prevent the device from functioning as intended.

Very Good devices are a popular choice for customers who want strong value without needing perfect cosmetic appearance.

Good

A Good-condition device will show more noticeable signs of previous use.

You may see:

• Visible scratches

• Scuffs

• Marks around the frame or housing

• Small dents or other cosmetic imperfections

The device may not look new, but cosmetic wear does not affect its intended functionality.

Good-condition devices are ideal for customers looking for a reliable device at a more affordable price.

Acceptable / Fair

An Acceptable or Fair-condition device may show significant cosmetic wear from previous use.

You may notice:

• Heavier scratches

• Dents

• Scuffs

• Paint or finish wear

• Other visible cosmetic imperfections

Despite the cosmetic condition, the device is sold as functional unless a specific issue is clearly disclosed in the product description.

This grade is best for customers who prioritize price and functionality over cosmetic appearance.

Does a lower cosmetic grade mean the phone works worse?

No.

Our grading system primarily describes the physical and cosmetic appearance of the device.

For example, a Good-condition phone may have more scratches than an Excellent-condition phone, but both may perform the same essential functions.

Any known functional issue that materially affects the device will be disclosed in the product listing.

Will my refurbished phone have scratches?

It depends on the condition grade.

Previously owned devices may have cosmetic signs of use, including:

• Light scratches

• Scuffs

• Small marks

• Minor dents

• Wear around buttons, edges, or charging ports

Choosing a higher condition grade generally means receiving a device with fewer visible cosmetic imperfections.

Are refurbished devices tested?

Will an unlocked phone work with every carrier?

Not necessarily.

An unlocked phone is not restricted to one particular carrier, but the phone must still support the network frequencies and technologies used by your carrier.

Before purchasing, confirm:

• VoLTE compatibility

• Your carrier's compatibility requirements

This is especially important for older flip phones, rugged phones, and devices originally manufactured for U.S. carriers.

What battery condition should I expect?

Because refurbished and certified pre-owned devices have been previously used, battery capacity may not be identical to a brand-new battery.

Battery performance depends on factors such as:

Unless the listing specifically states that the battery is new, customers should expect a used battery with normal degradation appropriate for a pre-owned device.

Does cosmetic grading determine battery health?

No.

Cosmetic grade describes the appearance of the device and should not be interpreted as a specific battery-health percentage.

For example, a Like New device may look almost flawless cosmetically, but it is still a pre-owned device unless the listing specifically states otherwise.

Are the batteries original?

A device may contain its original battery or a compatible replacement battery depending on its refurbishment history.

If a specific battery type or replacement status is important to you, please contact us before ordering.

Do refurbished devices come with original accessories?

Not always.

Unless specifically shown or stated in the product description, refurbished devices may not include the manufacturer's original retail packaging or original accessories.

Will my device come in the original box?

Are your devices cleaned before shipping?

Yes.

Devices are cleaned and prepared before shipment. Previously owned devices may still show cosmetic wear consistent with their condition grade.

Will the device contain the previous owner's information?

No.

Devices are factory reset or wiped before resale where applicable.

You should receive the device ready for setup with your own account.

What should I do when I receive my device?

We recommend inspecting and testing your device as soon as possible.

Check:

You should also verify carrier compatibility before transferring your primary number.

Why does the device look different from the product photos?

Some product listings may use representative or stock images to show the model.

Because refurbished devices are individually pre-owned, the exact cosmetic marks on the device you receive may differ from the example photos.

The condition grade shown in the listing should be used as the main guide for expected cosmetic appearance.

Are refurbished devices cheaper than new devices?

Generally, yes.

Buying refurbished or certified pre-owned can provide significant savings compared with purchasing a brand-new device.

Customers can often get an older flagship, rugged phone, business phone, or specialty device for considerably less than its original retail price.

Is buying refurbished environmentally friendly?

Buying refurbished electronics can help extend the useful life of existing devices.

Reusing devices may reduce electronic waste and decrease the need for otherwise functional electronics to be discarded prematurely.

Do you sell brand-new devices?

Some products may be new, open-box, refurbished, used, or certified pre-owned.

The condition will be stated on the individual product listing.

Never assume a product is brand new unless it is specifically identified as New.

Do refurbished phones have water resistance?

Customers should not assume that the manufacturer's original water-resistance rating remains intact on a refurbished or previously used device.

Water-resistant seals can deteriorate over time or may have been affected by previous servicing.

For this reason, we recommend keeping refurbished devices away from water and excessive moisture even if the model originally carried an IP water-resistance rating when new.

What happens if my phone shows a moisture warning?

Many modern smartphones contain moisture-detection systems inside or around the charging port.

A moisture warning can occur due to:

• Direct contact with liquid

• Rain

• High humidity

• Condensation

• Sweat

• Moisture inside the charging cable

• Dirt or debris in the charging port

If a moisture warning appears, disconnect the charger and allow the device and charging port to dry completely before attempting to charge again.

Do not intentionally expose a refurbished device to water.

Do you offer returns?

Eligible purchases may be returned according to the Formidable Wireless Return and Refund Policy.

Returned devices must be returned in the required condition and must not contain account locks such as Apple Activation Lock, Google Factory Reset Protection, MDM, passcodes, or other security restrictions.

Can I return a device because I changed my mind?

Eligible change-of-mind returns may be accepted according to our current Return and Refund Policy.

Return shipping costs and applicable restocking fees may apply.

What should I do before returning a phone?

Before shipping a device back:

• Disable Find My iPhone or similar tracking services

• Package the item securely

Devices returned with account locks or in materially different condition may experience delays or deductions in the refund process.
